Thi Thu Slutz

Thi Thu Slutz, age 71 of Belle Fourche, died Thursday, December 31, 2020 at her home.

Services will be held 9:30 A.M. Friday, January 8, 2021 at Black Hills National Cemetery in Sturgis.  There will be no visitation.  

Thi Thu Slutz was born in Vietnam on May 10, 1949.  Thu escaped Vietnam and in 1974 she became an American citizen.  She was united in  marriage to Jimmy Slutz on November 2, 1977.  Following their marriage they lived in Yakima WA.  In 1980 they moved to Belle Fourche.  They had a wonderful marriage, and Thu loved her freedom and her life in America.  Thu worked at the Dorset Nursing Home and the Belle Fourche Nursing Home and she also drove semi for Habeck Trucking for a time.  She enjoyed fishing, and cooking.  Her specialty was egg rolls and chow mien.  She was kind and sweet, a meticulous person, and a very wise woman.  Jimmy died December 1, 2004 and since then Thu has continued to live at home in Belle Fourche.

Thu is survived by her sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law, Pam (Kent) Popham of Belle Fourche, Phil (Denise) Slutz of Belle Fourche, Tim (Stephanie) Slutz of Everett WA, Dan Slutz, Becky Slutz of Belle Fourche; and nieces and nephews.  She was preceded in death by her husband James Slutz in 2004, and her mother-in-law, Ethel Slutz.
